In many cases, our apps benefit much from a backend on the network. In the simplest case this may be a site that adds complements the app and makes its content available in an additional way.
For example, in addition to our holiday calendar app for iPhone, iPad, and Android we have developed an online holiday calendar. This offer is also well accepted on the web. We can provide additional value to our users and, at the same time, make new users aware of our apps.
We supplement the re-use of content by a convenient data editor in the backend. This allows us to have the information in our content management system automatically prepared for the various platforms and to provide the same content on all target devices.
For our clients we have also developed online services that extend the functionality of apps. An example is an online voting service, where users can rate content in an app and then have current top lists displayed on their device. This service of course prevents that reviews are counted twice.
Another example is the registration of subscriptions on a server which allows to transfer content subscriptions within an app to other devices of the same user. This is a prerequisite for iPhone apps to be able to realize subscriptions without automatic renewal in accordance with Apple´s specifications. Safety aspects play an important role in this application, of course.
